Voting day for the 2022 Municipal Election is Monday, Oct. 24, 2022.

Democracy is all about being engaged, getting involved and caring about the well-being of the city you live in. As part of the City of Vaughan’s commitment to open, transparent and accessible government, citizens are encouraged to be a part of the decision-making process for the 2022 Municipal Election. 

To be eligible to vote for a Member of Vaughan  Council in the Municipal Election, you must be a Canadian citizen, over the age of 18, and either a resident of the city of Vaughan, or an owner or tenant of property within the city, or the spouse of an owner or tenant of property in Vaughan.

Are you on the Voters’ List?

You must be on the Voters’ List to vote in the upcoming 2022 Municipal Election. Visit voterlookup.ca or call 1-866-296-6722 to find out if you are on the list and confirm your information on file is accurate and up to date. As well, if you have recently moved, changed your name or turned 18 years old, check to make sure you are on the list and your information is correct.

City of Vaughan Council consists of the Mayor, three regional Councillors and five ward Councillors.
 
The Mayor and regional Councillors are elected by a general vote to sit on Vaughan Council and represent the City on York Regional Council. The other five members serve as ward Councillors and are elected to Council by residents in each ward.
